- Spring – March to April are months when meltdown begins and Alaska moves towards summertime.
- Summer – May to September are months when Alaska experiences 18 – 21 hours of daylight daily, though temperatures can range from cold to hot depending on the region. Areas in the north of the Arctic Circle experience constant daylight in the summers which is known as the Midnight Sun. In the mountainous regions, there are glaciers and permanent snow.
- Autumn – October is when Alaska moves towards wintertime, but the transition is not experienced much because the transition is fast; there are leaves on the trees one day and they are gone the next day.
- Winter – November to February are months when there are long periods of darkness, but it is an especially picturesque time of year as a picture-perfect Alpenglow will light up the sky.
