Nowadays, the tradition continues, though the village now specializes in producing a wide range of ‘Lao-Lao’, the Lao whiskey, and ‘Lau-Hai’, the Lao wine.After the visit, continue the cycling tour on dirt road for about 45 minutes to Ban Pak Ou where a stop will be made at a local restaurant for lunch. Transfer by small boat across the river to begin trekking an easy hike throughthe beautiful jungle with surrounding mountains in the river valley. Arrive at a Khmu hill tribe village where you will explore life nestled in the mountains with the local guide. Most of the people at the village are farmers and fishermen and subsist on their traditional way of agriculture. Refresh with a break before a scenic and easy walk off the mountain to the Tad Sae Waterfall where you can take a cool swim. Conditions range from impressive strong currents during the height of the rainy season to slow-flowing and inviting crystal-clear water that is great for swimming. (Note: During the dry season of Feb - Jul, the Tad Sae Waterfall can be low-flowing or even dry. Luang Prabang's Graden and City Experience
After breakfast, take the Pha Tad Ke boat from Ban Wat That (departure time at 9:00; to be at the pier at 8:45). Enjoy a 15-minute leisurely boat trip down the Mekong River. Upon arrival at Pha Tad Ke Botanical Garden reception, be introduced to the gardens. After a walk through the Ginger Garden and the Ethno-botanic Garden, which is the centerpiece of the garden, follow the path through the Limestone Walk and take in the amazing mountainous Mekong landscape. Learn how to make a bamboo stick animal at the site of the former royal family’s hunting lodge before walking through the Arboretum, Palm Garden and Bamboo Garden to the viewpoint that overlooks the rice fields. Stop by the Mist House to learn more about the importance of biodiversity conservation before ending the tour with an optional orchid talk at Pha Tad Ke Nursery. Savor a delicious Lao set lunch at the Pha Tad Ke café before taking the boat back to Luang Prabang. In the afternoon, admire the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represents classical Laotian architecture. Continue to visit Royal Palace Museum, which hosts a range of interesting artifacts. If time permits, take a short walk around the small streets of city center, watching the locals go about their life. In the late afternoon, climb to the top of Mount Phousi for an exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as enjoy a panoramic sunset view of the city and the Mekong River. Immerse in the bustling atmosphere of the Night Market, where you can find a lovely selection of handmade textiles made by local and hilltribe people.

Luang Prabang's Cultural and Scenic Experience
Start the day at the Traditional Arts & Ethnology Center (TAEC) to understand more about the Lao diverse ethnic culture through a stroll around and a seminar titled “Ethnic Diversity and Cultural Change in Laos”. The fascinating 60-minute presentation and question-and-answer session by one of the two TAEC Founder/Directors, either Thongkhoun Soutthivilay, a Luang Prabang-native who had worked at the Luang Prabang National Museum for 10 years, or Tara Gujadhur, an American who has worked in Luang Prabang for over 10 years, with a background in anthropology and sustainable tourism development, provides a background on Laos' ethnic communities, their history and their cultural practices, including livelihoods and crafts. Take the opportunity to learn about lifestyles in ethnic villages and see unique artifacts from TAEC's collection that are not accessible to the general public. Relish an ethnic Khmu lunch at TAEC Café. In the afternoon, marvel at the beautiful Kuang Si waterfalls, the biggest in the Luang Prabang area with three tiers leading to a 50-metre drop into spectacular azure pools. The pools also make great swimming holes and are very popular with both tourists and locals. Make a short visit to the Bear Rescue Center, which houses a couple of dozen animals rescued from the hands of poachers and traffickers. Drop by Ock Pop Tock Living Craft Center to admire top-quality fabrics produced by weavers, spinners and batik makers, and hopefully catch the sunset as this is also one of the best spots to admire the sunset in Luang Prabang.
Day 4: Luang Prabang - Nam Ou (Breakfast, Lunch)
Luang Prabang's Spiritual Experience and Nam Ou's Relaxing Experience
Join the most sacred tradition of Laos, the daily morning alm-giving, which dates to the 14th century. More than 200 Buddhist monks depart from various temples to gather their daily meal from the faithful residents sitting quietly on the streets. Following that, experience local life by visiting the temporary morning market near the former Royal Palace. The locals gather to barter their day’s catch from rice and vegetable to fish and chicken. After breakfast, take a drive to Ban Xang Hai, a village famous for lao-lao, the traditional distilled rice whiskey.From there, we enjoy the 30-minute elephant ride exploring the Mekong river at the nearby elephant camp. Continue to Ban Pak Ou and take a boat across the Mekong river to visit the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves set high above the river and crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims. After visiting the caves, take the cruise to the beautiful Nam Ou Riverside Resort, which nests along the lazy Nam Ou River. Spend the rest of the day at your own leisure where you can explore the nearby villages or relax by the resort’s pool.
Day 5: Nam Ou - Ban Lae (Breakfast, Lunch)
Ban Lae's Homestay Experience
Head to Ban Lae, a village which is located 25km from town and 10km from the resort. Upon arrival, the host family will meet and welcome you. Have a stroll around the village to see the life of the locals; visit the local school, which is livelier during the weekdays, or drop by the local market. Enjoy lunch at the house of the host family. In the afternoon, you can choose to either relax or enjoy agricultural activities such as rice planting and harvesting in surrounding rice fields (depending on the season); traditional fishing techniques (you can sample your catch for dinner); walk around the farm and rice field; or explore the river with the local boat. You may wish to have a dip in the inviting Nam Xeuang river, or join and help the host with preparing the dinner which you can learn more about Lao cuisine. Before dinner, join a private Baci ceremony, held by the elders of the village. The Baci ceremony is a traditional ritual of the Lao people which expresses the spirituality of the country and is a highly memorable experience and a deep insight into Lao culture. During dinner, folk tales will be told by the host family and translated by your guide.
Day 6: Ban Lae - Departure from Luang Prabang (Breakfast)

Rise early to admire the sunrise over the Nam Xeuang river and the nearby mountains. Pay a visit to the local temple and join the alm-giving to appreciate the difference from the one experienced in Luang Prabang. After breakfast, learn traditional fishing techniques by the stunning Nam Xeuang river, and experience bamboo weaving, silk weaving, or fishing net weaving. Arrive at the village at 11:00 to return to Luang Prabang. Take the departure transfer to Luang Prabang airport for homebound flight.

Fistail and Annapurna Mountain ranges and beautiful lakes. On arrival in Pokhara, check in to hotel and free time to explore the lake side area. "Pokhari " means "pond". Pokhara is a variant of Pokhari as the city has numerous ponds. Pokhara is blessed with stunning panoramic views of the Annapurna range which forms its backdrop.
Day 3: Pokhara (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Wake up early morning to take a short 30 minutes’ drive to Sarangkot which is located at a height of 1600m. Sarangkot is renowned for its beautiful sunrise view and panoramic mountain views. You will enjoy the beautiful scenery for a while then drive back to the hotel and breakfast. Later a half day sightseeing tour of Pokhara is in store for you. You will be visiting Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, Davis Fall, Seti Gorge, the old town of Pokhara & Tibetan Refugee camp. There will be 1 hour boating in Lake Fewa to enjoy the lake view and the mountains. After sightseeing, you can walk around lake side area, which is filled with shops, cafes & restaurants.
Day 4: Pokhara – Kathmandu (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
After breakfast drive back to Kathmandu (7-8hrs) enjoying the natural views along the way. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and have an easy and perfectly relaxing evening. Kathmandu is a city where ancient traditions are zealously guarded while at the same time embracing modern technology. The grandeur of the past enchants the visitor whose gaze may linger on an exquisitely carved wooden window frame, an 18th century bronze sculpture or a spiritually uplifting stupa.
Day 5: Kathmandu (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Today activities start with a visit to Swoyambhunath Stupa – UNESCO World Heritage Site, also known as "Monkey Temple,” The temple charms with its great dazzling Stupa, while at the same time, offering a view of Kathmandu city. The two-thousand years-old Stupa is the most profound expression of Buddhist symbolism in Nepal. There’s evidence to believe the hill was used for animist rites even before Buddhism arrived in the valley two thousand years ago.
Your next destination is Patan Durbar Square – UNESCO World Heritage Site. Patan Durbar Square complex is perhaps the most photographed of the three durbar squares. Located in the heart of Patan city, this was once the palace of the kings of Patan. The square is a display of Newari architecture that had reached its pinnacle during the reign of Malla kings who were great builders and patrons of the arts.
After Patan durbar square visit to Khokana. Khokana is a small Newari Village located just 6 kilometers from Patan. Khokana is a small village in which traditional craftsmanship still takes an important role. Villagers can often be seen spinning, winnowing and crushing mustard seeds. Especially the latter is what Khokana is most famous for, it's mustard oil. The village has a broad street leading into its center. On the left side the three storied Shree Rudrayani temple can be seen.
After exploring Khokana you will walk to Bungmati. This is an approximately 15 minutes’ walk on the road dividing the agricultural land. Bungmati, just like Khokana, is a Newari village where traditional life still can be seen. The village houses the typical Newari buildings and has an interesting main square where one can view the Ganesh Temple and the Machhindranath Temple. In the evening proceed for farewell dinner with cultural show.

Start your day with a visit to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, a conservation centre for wild Asian elephants, started in 1975 to house the orphaned, abandoned and injured elephants found wandering in and near the forests of Sri Lanka. You can see the elephants being fed, watch them bathe and play around in the river. Thereafter, proceed to visit Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla. It is the largest, best-preserved cave-temple complex in Sri Lanka, consists of five cave shrines carved under a very large overhanging rock. The temples are filled with paintings, statues of Buddha and his faithful disciple Ananda, as well as Hindu deities.
Day 3: Dambulla – Polonnaruwa – Minneriya National Park – Dambulla (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Head on to the Ancient City of Polonnaruwa, the second capital of Sri Lanka, from the 11th to 13th century. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1982. Explore the impressive Lankatilaka Vihara Temple, Tivanka Image House – the largest brick-built shrine in Sri Lanka, famous for its wall paintings and Thuparama Temple, the first Buddhist temple in Sri Lanka. Admire the four beautiful Buddha statues that were carved out of rock at Gal Vihara Temple and see the large well-preserved Rankoth Vehera Stupa and Kiri Vehera Stupa. After that, visit Minneriya National Park. Hop on a Jeep Safari Tour to explore one of the best places in the country to see wild elephants. The national park is famous for its herds of elephants roaming in the jungle, migrating for food, water and shelter. You may also see other animals like wild buffaloes, crocodiles, leopards, wild boar, spotted deer, birds and many more.
Day 4: Dambulla – Sigiriya – Matale – Kandy (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Explore the majestic 5th century “Fortress in the Sky”, which is one of the most visited places in the country. Climb the UNESCO-listed Sigiriya Rock Fortress, approximately 1200 steps, rising 200 meters (660ft) high into the heaven. Also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance to the fortress. On its summit are the foundations of what was once a great and sumptuous palace and gardens complete with swimming pool. This rock climbing activity is recommended for most tourists as you get to see some beautiful engraved frescoes of the ancient era and also the remnants of a fortress at the top of the rock, not forgetting the tremendous view from the summit.
Visit Spice Garden in Matale to see the different spices, which Sri Lanka is famous for. You will be introduced to different spices and shown how some of these spices are grown and processed. After that, head on to another UNESCO World Heritage site – Kandy, the last capital of the Sinhala Kings. Visit Upper Lake Drive, Market Square, Kandyan Arts and Crafts Industrial Centre, Gem Museum and Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic houses the tooth of Buddha that was brought to Sri Lanka in the 4th century and is considered the country’s most prized possession. In the evening, enjoy a Sri Lankan Cultural Dance Show.
Day 5: Kandy – Peradeniya – Nuwara Eliya (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Get ready to depart for Nuwara Eliya. Sit back and enjoy the scenic views along the way. Visit Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, renowned for its collection of orchids and the long, palm framed pathways. It includes more than 4000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. Then, visit the Tea Plantation and Tea Factory, where you will see how tea leaves are being processed into the world-famous Ceylon tea. Thereafter, proceed for Nuwara Eliya City Tour. Nuwara Eliya, a city in the hill country of Sri Lanka, is surrounded by beautiful mountains. Many of the buildings retain features from the colonial period. With its British-era bungalows, Tudor-style hotels, well-tended hedgerows, old English-style lawns and gardens, Nuwara Eliya is often referred to as “Little England” of Sri Lanka. Bid farewell to Nuwara Eliya and make your way back to the bustling city of Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka. Colombo has a long history as a port on ancient east-west trade routes, ruled successively by the Portuguese, Dutch and British. The heritage is reflected in its architecture, mixing colonial buildings with high-rises and shopping malls. Drive through the city taking you to the busy commercial areas as well as the tree-lined residential, Cinnamon Gardens in Colombo. Visit Fort, the former British administrative center and military garrison, which is now the central business district of Colombo. Head to Sea Street – the Goldsmith’s quarters in the heart of Pettah, a bazaar area where there is also a Hindu Temple with elaborate stone carvings and the Dutch Church of Wolfendhal dating back to 1749. Also, visit the BMICH (Bandaranayake Memorial International Conference Hall), Independence Square and see the Replica of Avukana Buddha. If time permits, end the tour with a last-minute Shopping at Odel and Barefoot. The city tour will only be possible if your onward departure flight is towards the latter part of the day or towards the night.
