Day 2: Vientiane (Breakfast)
This morning, tee-off for 1st round of golf in Long Thanh Vientiane Golf Club. Long Thanh Vientiane Golf Club currently has 18 holes since November 3, 2012. The golf course was created to neatly integrate with the terrain and natural vista. 18 international-standard fairways are 72-par long 7,538 yards. The roughs and fairway grasses are kept fertile and healthy. The old trees are perfect for just enough shade and there are a wide range of beautiful flowers in the fairways. The lighting system for the 18 fairways meets the international standards. The water spraying system is controlled by computer, ensuring that the grasses are in its’ best conditions for a game of golf all year round.
After golf, go for a tour and visit Wat Si Muang. Wat Si Muang is one of Vientiane’s most popular places of worship which provides an amazing awareness on how ancient beliefs have merged impeccably with Theravada Buddhism. It is built in 1563 in Vientiane Laos. Situated in downtown Vientiane, this temple is always busy with activity with many local and international visitors coming to worship and sightsee. In the temple, you will typically see a monk giving blessings and a room which contains a remarkable altar.
Day 3: Vientiane – Nam Ngum Lake (Breakfast)
Start your day with a golf game in SEA Games Golf Club. The SEA Games Golf Club is equipped with a unique 27-hole special golf layout for golfers to dive into this lovely course. This course has proudly held the twenty-fifth Southeast Asian Games. Being situated approximately 10 miles northeast of the city, the course is an unbeatable escape from the hustle and bustle of the city lifestyle. The area is perfect for a getaway as it is surrounded by Laos’s woodlands’ pastoral flora and fauna. In this golf course, you will find some holes being surrounded by water bodies; commonly seen in championship layouts and the golf course. However, these are not the hazardous pool of water that golfers typically see. They are wide and compliment the stunning landscape. After golf, enjoy tour programs with visits to Pha That Luang Vientiane and the impressive Patuxay Monument. That Luang is a national symbol in Vientiane and the most sacred shrine in the country. From the outside That Luang looks more like a fortress surrounded by high walls and it features two temples with the main stupa, the top of which is covered with gold leaf, standing 148 feet tall. The lovely architecture is in Laos’ style, mainly influenced by Buddhist beliefs. They are finely crafted, red-lacquer doors, pointed lesser stupas, many Buddha images and beautiful flower and animal images. The Patuxay Monument is one of Vientiane’s most evident developments. Located at the center of Vientiane, on the end of Lane Xang Avenue is the impressive arch. Patuxay which translates to “Victory Gate”, surrounded the monument is a large arched gateway. Though the design is influenced by the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, the upper part and decoration is typical of Laos’ style. After tour, proceed to Dansavanh Nam Ngum Resort and check-in for a night stay.
Day 4: Nam Ngum Lake – Vientiane (Breakfast)
At Nam Ngum Lake, enjoy 18 holes golf in Dansavanh Golf & Country Club. The club is well-known for its unique world class standard golf resort in Laos. It is undoubtedly one of a kind location with views of Nam Ngum Lake – “the Lake Geneva of Asia” – and highland forests of palms and pines at heights going from about one thousand to two thousand feet above sea level. This course has a number of stimulating doglegs. 8 out of 18 holes is a dogleg. Five of the dogleg angle to the right while three angle around to the left. Hence, a well-placed and planned shot off a tee is truly important. If you are unable to cut the corner with your tee shot or hit it long enough to curve the ball round the bend, a good strategy for straight hitters is to tee your ball at the same side of the tee box as the dogleg goes, e.g., dogleg left, tee it left. After golf, return to Vientiane city and check-in to your hotel for last 2 nights’ stay.
Day 5: Vientiane (Breakfast)
Challenge final round of golf at the Lao Country Club. Lao Country Club has one of the oldest golf infrastructures in Laos but yet it is always kept in optimal playing conditions. The course in Lao Country Club is always kept in tip top condition as it is always professionally and carefully maintained. The fairways are quite gentle, making it easy to walk the whole course, with slight elevation change from the highest to the lowest ground on the property. One can easily find water on this course. The water bodies create an interesting distraction which may steal your concentration and cause your shots to be wayward.
After golf, visit the Buddha Park, an enchanting collection of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures on the Mekong Riverside meadow, near the Friendship Bridge. There are approximately 200 religious images dating back over 500 years, which were created by a mysterious monk spreading his philosophy on life and to reveal his ideas about the universe.
Day 6: Departure from Vientiane (Breakfast)
Free till departure transfer from hotel to the airport for your homebound flight.
