The Montgomerie Golf Club Dubai’s championship golf course was designed by Colin Montgomerie in association with Desmond Muirhead. The course covers 265 acres which consist of 123 acres of turf, 49 acres of man-made lakes (a total of 14 lakes), and 93 acres of landscaped gardens and is scattered with 81 large bunkers.

A Nick Faldo 2006 restructured, it was initially opened in 1996 and was debuted The 'Wadi', taken from the Arabic word for 'valley'. In 2005, The Wadi was redesigned by six-time major winner Nick Faldo and the new 'The Faldo' re-opened in October 2006. A 7,348 yard, par-73 is a tough layout with a course rating of 76/139 ie a scratch player playing from the back tees would play 76-72= 4 over the course!
