Dago Heritage 1917 Golf Course started life in 1917 as a nine-hole course until a further nine was added in 1994 by Japanese designer Chohei Miyazawa, turning the course into a stern test of golf skills and stamina. This par 72 Peter Thomson and Ross Perret design is one of the more unusual in that it has 5 par threes and 5 par fives, with the rest being the requisite par fours. At an altitude of up to 1,200 metres above sea level, Mountain View offers up a bird’s eye view of the entire city of Bandung. Most holes are stunning but the 10th hole takes the cake. From some 80 meters above the fairway, a precise tee shot to a narrow fairway is required, before an approach around a dogleg right to a small green uphill. Multiple tee boxes per hole presents various risk reward routes for both the casual and highly skilled golfer. Mountain View is the absolute jewel in the crown of Bandung golf and is a must-play.

Designed and built for the 1983 World Cup of Golf and established in 1976, this course is a Jakarta institution. Ever since Rex Caldwell and John Cook of the USA sat on top of the world in 1983 as World Cup Champions, Pondok Indah Golf Course has maintained its top ranking for its quality.
While the course was built mainly for a much-admired international professional golf tournament, it is noteworthy how flexible the course can be, catering to golfers from different level. Most courses simply choose to push their tees forward to accommodate average or less experienced golfers, hence it is always quite difficult for a course to feel ‘right; from all angles and tee boxes. This makes Pondok Indah Golf Course unique compared to the other golf courses.
